practising hermit.
i am so giddy about my new place i never want to leave it. so, i don't.
well, i do. i went to lunnenberg today. that was fun.
still no phone and i am kinda enjoying that. i may forgo the phone forever. i have a bike, two legs, internet. what do i need a stinking phone for?
so, funny moving story.
i fell out of the back of the u-haul. it was about a four foot drop. i went from a standing position to landing face/head first on rusty fence and frozen ground. the large bin of bedding i was carrying did not touch the ground once. my killer instincts kicked in to protect the tupperware container full of duvets and sheets. i shielded them with my body. how fantastic is that?
also.
i need help with the colour scheme for my kitchen. the budget is non-existent now, but i can be resourceful if need be. if you are interested in putting in your three cents (i like the wage increase) and help me pick a color, drop me a line. or just drop in.
i am too high on paint fumes to continue.

mark laing and I talked about this and we think it should be complimentary colours or you should use colour triads. what does any of that mean anyway.
I would go for a general theme of gothic chique, with a touch of renaissance "bold pastel". Gold Leaf on all of the plumbing is essential though the oppulence should be disguised with chintz coverings over anything that is in any way shiny. May I also suggest a breakfast bar and shagpile carpet, probably in mauve and orange. An orange "pull down lamp" in plastic is also essential.
Just my 1.5 pence worth (sorry, 3 cents).
Oh, you two are hilarious. There was a colour chart with the paint chips I picked up. I almost kicked myself for not paying attention in Mark's class. Then I realized how horrific it would be if I had retained much of that knowledge, with that weird voice telling floating around in my head. And Micheal, it is as if you have read my mind. This message popped up just as I was applying the gold leaf on, well, not just the plumbing, but everything.
Aaah, Gold Leaf on EVERYTHING! Even I wouldn't have been so bold, so brave, so... Modern!
How about a scale model of the Albert Memorial in the middle of the main room, made into a fountain?

I can see it now, illuminated by orange plastic pull-down lamp. Inspired!
You are really hooked on the orange plastic pull-down lamp. May I ask, what excatly, is a "pull-down" lamp?
You bloody Canadians, you have no culture at all do you!
The pull-down lamp is THE house style accessory of the 70's - Everybody needs one to illuminate the breakfast bar, the shagpile carpet and the all-in-one stereo entertainment unit.
Let me find you a picture...

There you go. And you know, the scary thing is, I think I am going to buy that one. Sigh!

That was so good, I had to send it twice.
